Aloe Vera

Thursday, February 12, 2009

My sister-in-law gave me this Aloe Vera plant during CNY. Now I have a new kind of plant in my garden.

I learnt that Aloe Vera is a very useful plant. Its gel has lots of healing properties. It can be used to treat wound, burns, corns and even dark spots on the face. Or, it can be used to make dessert (yummy!).

Aloe is mentioned in the Bible! Numbers 24:6 ‘Like valleys that stretch afar, like gardens beside a river, like aloes that the Lord has planted, like cedar trees beside the waters.’
The Herb Society of America says that aloe is believed to be the only tree descended to man from the Garden of Eden.

No wonder many homes have Aloe Vera in their garden!
