A pleasant surprise in the garden comes from a dainty bloom, Arundina sp. (mini bamboo orchid). I was just pulling weeds from the pot and didn't realise that a flower was about bloom.
The little flower however seems to look extra small besides the big leaf of the Alocasia cucullata (Chinese Taro). Actually this particular leaf might have grown out of shape as it has kind of elongated.
Here is how the plant leaves were supposed to look... pretty pointy leaves :-)
Meanwhile, my Solandra longiflora that is planted in a pot and had shed almost all its leaves regrew and flowered. Always a delight to see this flower and it smelt really great ummm... coconut + vanilla :-)
During the recent Raya holidays, the blooms of my Guzmania were flourishing. And this week, the blooms are at their glorious peak. Glad I get to enjoy this moment :-D
A top view...
Out in the open, Symphyotrichum leave var. leave (Synonym: Aster leavis), commonly known as Smooth Aster has just started flowering. The blooms are like sparkling jewels under the sun :-)
Now here is another surprise... my closed terrarium with a little Episcia plant inside is still thriving! The plant has grown 'skinnier', still it is great to see how the plant could survive inside the bottle for about a year now.
Enjoy gardening!
