Which bloom is a new one? The darker Chalice Vine flower or the paler one?
Chalice Vine (Solandra longiflora) flowers first appear pale but will turn darker as it age. What I like most is its strong sweet fragrance. The whole garden smells wonderful whenever the flower is opened and because the flower is huge, you won't miss it.
The other flower that does the same thing -- darkens as it age -- is the blooms of the Spider Tresses (Strophanthus perussii). It also releases smell but mild.
The blooms or rather spathe of the Anthurium turn pale as they age.
My Hibiscus acetosella 'Red Shield' is flowering! This is the first bloom of the tall plant.
Meanwhile, my Waflle plant (Hemisgraphis alternata 'Exotica') is showing a few white flowers. They are tiny but when they blossom against its dark purplish leaves, they can be quite obvious.
In the pic below, you can see my One-Day-Yellow Desert Rose (Adenium obesum) flower and a seed pod of another Desert Rose plant. The flower of the one with the seed pod is of regular colour -- white with pink edges. You can also see part of my bougainvillea in the background.
Finally, my terrarium needs a reconstruction. The Snake Skin Plants (Fittonia sp.) have really touched the ceiling of the terrarium and some of the fern leaves have turned brown.
Have a look at my Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura. Although it lacks lushness, the petite plant has been productive in flowering. The flowers borne in a raceme come in pleasing violet and white colours.
Beautiful Euphorbia 'Breathless Blush' can be so cool. The plant grew lush quickly and has begun to flower.
This pot of watercress (Nasturtium officinale) grows quite fast as well -- yum, yum, yum!
Can you spot the two birds in pic below? They are sipping nectar from the Dwarf Ixora.
