I was looking forward for the Orchid Cactus (or Leaf Cactus) to bloom and it finally did. Two flowers opened together but I missed them! By the time I came out from the house in the morning, the flowers have already closed, aargh... I should have come out earlier!
Anyway, here is one of the closed flowers...
When the Chalice Vine is in bloom, it can really give a good show. I always like seeing its huge globet-shaped flowers. They look best in the morning.
The Chinese arrowhead foliage looks beautiful besides the Ixora. The arrowhead-shaped leaves stand out well against other leaves. I must say they look amazing!
The other plant that has similar looking leaves but more like heart-shaped is the Alocasia cucullata. It is also a plant that will shine anywhere it is planted.
I took a little time tidying up the garden. Did lots of deadheading and pruning.
The stems of the white Plumbago grew downwards too much and covered the plants that were below it. So in the end I chopped most of the branches even before they finish flowering.
This part of the garden was a little untidy too. The Chinese Hat Plant was the saving grace. Even the birds in the air love its alluring blooms :)
Euphorbia Diamond Fizz is growing and blooming too fast! Looks like I can only enjoy these white blooms for a short while :(
Happy preparing for the Chinese New Year holidays :D
