What's Springing Up
Friday, March 09, 2018Azalea grows slowly but never fails to impress. Its pretty blooms are quite large for this small shrub. No sweet fragrant, just allowing its pinkish peach colour to make the flowers look sweet.
Lemon ginger is in bloom too but unfortunately one bloom at a time, sigh :(
I have been shaping some dwarf Alternantheras in my strawberry pot. Glad they turned out just the way I wanted them to be - forming spheres :).
Chinese fringe flowers to celebrate the Chinese New Year. I was surprised that they lasted long. These blooms were on the plant for about a week. Sometimes they fade fast but not this time around though, yippie!
This birdnest anthurium has grown so big and its leaves are thick. Always in bloom and happy to see it growing stronger and stronger each day as time goes by.
I have always adore Silver Squill but forgetten about it till recently when I "rediscovered" while snapping away in the garden. The plant produces strap-like leaves that are not pretty but uniquely blotched.
Although it looks so different from the rest of the plants, it is an easy plant to grow. It is one of those "plant it and forget it" kinda plants.
Have an "extra-plantordinary" day!

I do love Alternanthera sp. ( green or red ) a lot. They are very cute when planted in pots. Azalea's pink flowers and the precious yellow ginger flower are also my favourites. I enjoy reading your plants stories. Simple and light reads always.

DeleteI never knew some of the plants before. Thanks for info. I like the pink azalia.
ReplyDeleteKnowing their Latin names is even better, meintheswim. They tell more about a plant.
