All Yellow This Week
Tuesday, September 15, 2009Yellow blooms seem to be the flavour in my garden this week...
I have an orchid plant that was given by my neighbour's mom many months ago and this is the first time I see its flower. This variety of oncidium has a refreshing yellow colour. It's a pleasant surprise for me for this week.
This little Portulaca plant which was a cutting I took from its stalk (with a bud) was blooming immediately the next day after it was planted!
Hibiscuses in bloom, lovely!
Have a blissful week :-)

Oh I like your orchid Stephanie, and the yellow Hibiscuses is perfect :D
ReplyDeleteYellow is royal in Malaysia as purple is considered royal in UK.... orchids refuse to bloom lately, i dont know why, and there is one yellow bloom with a big white single petal at the lower part of the stalk. And that is the only yellow in our garden. Except for yellow pair of gloves Kakdah will be wearing as she has me accompanied checking the plants ocassionally... Cheers.
ReplyDeleteBright as sunshine your flowers looks. Your Hibiscus is real cute, plenty vanilla with a tuch of strawberry :)
ReplyDeleteNice pictures, Steph. Your orchid is very beautiful. Is it potted or mounted?

Beautiful yellow blooms, for some reasons, yellow flowers are easier to take care.
ReplyDeleteWow, the hibiscus is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYellow goes very well with purple. If you can get some purple leaved/flower plant and put them together with the yellow - it would add depth to the garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you all!
ReplyDeleteProspero, it is potted in a small hanging container.
Wendy, the hibiscus flower only last one day for me. But the plant blooms all year round!
The yellow hibiscus is lovely and I especially love its throat. It's like a lavender rainbow! Cheers!
